University of Iowa: Iowa Technology Career FairLocation: Sheraton Hotel, Iowa City - Contact: Leann Jacobson - More info The Iowa Technology Career Fair at the University of Iowa will bring students interested in technology related careers and together with Iowa firms. It will also work to increase overall awareness among students of technology-related job opportunities in Iowa so they know they don't need to leave the state to experience challenging and rewarding careers in technology. The Pomerantz Center will encourage participation of MIS, Computer Science, Engineering, Business and Liberal Arts and Sciences majors including undergraduate and graduate students. This fair will be advertised and promoted to these majors and will provide you with an excellent pool of candidates for your internship and or full-time employment opportunities. |

The Second Annual Young Professionals SymposiumLocation: Grand River Center, Dubuque, Iowa - More info On November 15, 2007, Young Professionals of Dubuque presented the 1st Annual YP Symposium In Memory of Meghan Hackett at the Grand River Center in Dubuque, Iowa. Joseph A. Michelli, Ph.D. opened the Symposium at 9 a.m. with his keynote speech "Taking Your Business to the Next Level - Lessons for Growing People and Profit." Symposium breakout sessions included: Brian Dalziel, Dave Kratz, Bob Johnson, Rob Daniels and Phil Larabee's "Growing a Sustainable Business", " Jim Pederson aka Rocky Rococo's "The Behavioral Characteristics of Success Beyond - The Power and the Dollar", Joseph Michelli's "Balancing Life Through Play and Laughter" and many others.

- New web site launched by the Iowa Board of Regents - Transfer In Iowa
- April, 2008 - Consider IowaSM is planning a series of 12 luncheons across the state in April and May to discuss ways for communities to highlight their organizations and connect with current students as mentors.
- April, 2008 - UI students will visit employers in the Corridor area to learn more about International Opportunities as well as Human Resources!
- Spring and Fall 2007 - Over the last several months staff of Consider IowaSM have traveled to and visited with all of the community colleges in the state of Iowa to find out how to partner with the schools.
