Meredith Willson, born and raised in Mason City, Iowa, is best remembered for his Broadway musical "The Music Man", for which he wrote the script, lyrics and music. The Meredith Willson Museum and his boyhood home make up a multi-million dollar complex in Mason City today, and it is considered one of the most visited places in the state of Iowa.
