What Can I Do With a Major in... Integrative Physiology
|
Integrative Physiology majors study ideas relating to sports and physical fitness such as exercise, physiology, biology, and health. Students in this major enjoy physical conditioning, are able to successfully communicate with diverse groups of people, and are interested in activities that promote health and well-being. Typical coursework in exercise science involves exercise techniques, human movement, biology, physiology, and injury prevention. Possible jobs in the field of exercise science include recreational therapist, sports manager, athletic training, and coaching. Many of these jobs require only a bachelor's degree in exercise science or related field, but others require certification to gain employment. Because people are beginning to spend more time and money on health and fitness, the exercise science field is expected to grow much faster than average. Exercise science also provides a good background for students interested in medical school and who want to focus more on health and injury, medicine, and becoming a physician.
