UI STUDENTS HAVE FUN LEARNING ABOUT SPORTS

Items from different sportsThere is more to sports than what meets the eye. On March 27, Consider Iowa SM hosted a Road Trip for University of Iowa students, highlighting companies that do the behind-the-scenes work of marketing and managing local sports teams. Amy, a senior who attended, said about the trip, “I learned that sports marketing doesn’t mean just one job. There are a magnitude of sports marketing jobs.”

They visited the Cedar Rapids Kernels, Learfield Communications/Hawkeye Sports Properties, UI Athletics Hall of Fame, and the Greater Iowa City/Coralville Area Sports Authority. When asked about recommending a trip to others, Katelyn, a sophomore, said, “Yes! I loved learning about the different directions you can take in a certain field/major.”

Note: If your company would like to be considered for a stop on an upcoming Road Trip, please email consider-iowa@uiowa.edu.
