Many businesses in Iowa are “going green” to help reduce their impact on the environment and improve their community. On Nov. 6, Consider IowaSM hosted a Road Trip for University of Iowa students, highlighting companies in Iowa with environmentally-friendly procedures. Lisa, a senior, said about the trip: “I learned about a lot of different initiatives business are taking to become more energy efficient.”
They visited Pella Corporation, the Iowa Department of Natural Resources, and the Center for Sustainable Communities. When asked about recommending a trip to others, Mike, a sophomore, said, “Absolutely. It gives such a vivid picture of what things are like in the workforce.”
Note: If your company would like to be considered for a stop on an upcoming Road Trip, please email consider-iowa@uiowa.edu. |
