the internationally-acclaimed Iowa State Fair in Des Moines annually attracts more than a million fun-lovers from around the world every August. The 11-day Fair is the catalyst for approximately $60 million worth of spending in travel, hotels/motels, restaurants, shopping, etc. for the local economy.
